Finding decent balls

Top flites, pinnacles, noodles I can find with ease. Quality marques are harder to come by. Mind you, the other day I found one of those new Taylor Made balls and was very impressed with it until smacking into the lake at the 15th.

I was recently playing a practice round in a severe downpour - it was heavenly as I had the whole place to myself (no other lunatics around that day) and I found an almost brand new Pro V 1 with my late dad's initials printed on it - I nearly fainted right there on the 3rd fairway. Wow.

Cheers,
Jason

I think what you usually find is that youre gonna be looking in a place that golfers of an equivalent ability/distance hit their balls. I hit it quite long and other players who do the same will more than likely be hitting prov's too. Hence I find quite a few of them when looking for my balls :D

When looking for my partners balls its generally in a place a little closer to the tee and where the majority of players will be losing them and hence the quality of them decreases whilst conversely the quantity increases....simples ;)

What about the Smiffys of this world who are losing their second shot (3rd?) where you are looking for your drive?

There's a hole in your theory.

Its pretty easy to find a knobbled shot 50 yards into the first cut so even if his failing eyes can't see it his partners usually help out

I live just down the road from my local course and take a hours walk round the first few holes most weeks. I usually get 100-130(as many as my bag fits) and out of them normally 20-30 pro v's, another 20-30 mixed titleist, 20 odd srixon's, 5-10 callaways and nikes and the rest just chuff. Every now and then I get a real gem like the ping eye yellow and white 2tone I found a few months ago, looked like it had been there years.
