Finding clubs!!

i handed one in to the proshop end of last year halfway round at a 9 hole u play twice to get 18,i found it on the 9th green, guy ran back from what was his 13th while we were on the 10th/1st tee.he said did anyone find his 9i ....i said yeah i just handed it in to the pro-shop (u have to walk past it to get to the tee).

he seemed surprised id handed it in which i found a little strange...but not as strange,.... as the "Mars Bar sellers" reaction, He seemed genuinely shocked when i went in there and handed it in

has he never had a club handed into him before?

made me wonder what sort of course it is and what kinda ppl play it

as far as im concerned im a golfer, you're a golfer if i can help someone in any way, I will

ive had it where a headcovers fallen off and asked the ppl behind and theyve said oh yeah i saw it, i put next to the tee - why not pick it up?

The last two rounds I have found two clubs, which I have managed to reunite with their owners, when we caught them up later in the round. Also found an iron cover and handed that in at the pro shop last week, and also found a buggy at the 16th with a flat battery (sod handing that in lol, I looked the other way and walked on by).

I've found a few and they normally belong to the group infront if not just hold into it and hand it into the pro shop.

Left a sand wedge in a bunker a while back, never saw it again even though I asked the next 3 or 4 groups that came in after us.

Not a nice feeling when your in the bar and your sure one of them has pinched it.

Often find clubs, and either hand them in, or track down the owner.

I am always surprised that odd irons don't get handed in. What the heck does someone do with a non matching 7i?

Specialist wedges I can see are more of a temptation if you are a bit light fingered.

How can you leave a putter behind? Surely you would find out on the next hole?

I wonder sometimes if a club is picked up by a visitor, who forgets to hand it in, and then oonce he finds it in his bag a week later just throws it away?

If you pick up a spare club in a comp, so you have 15 clubs in the bag, do you get a 4 shot penalty?

I've mislaid clubs twice, both 9 irons funnily enough.
First was in a competition at Highwoods, it was handed in about two weeks later. Thought I'd lost it.
Second time was at Forest Pines last year. Again it was handed in, this time about 20 minutes after I had finished my round
