Finally broke 100!

Well done - I still have the scorecard for my first sub 100 round of golf. Never looked back from there and hardly ever shot more than 95 from then onwards. Seemed a nemesis that was finally no longer out there bugging me and I really started to score well from then on
Awesome! Hopefully the same will be true for me :D

I've been playing for around 6 months and had all sorts of scores, 125 first time out, only just started to play regularly though and seeing lots of improvement, so you will get there!

I hope so mate.I'am having lessons and practicing loads , i think i also tend to rush a bit so iam going to take my time tomorrow and see what happens.

Nice one, its a big landmark for anyone starting out.

PS, I feel your pain Axel Benito, happened to me yesterday. Nothing woirse than playing on your own and catching up the fourball that started a hour before you

congrats, I always thought breaking 100 would be easy.... wrong. I am sure you will play with renewed confidence and do it regular. Just remember when the odd horror round pops up (as they do) its just the golf gods reminding you not to take it for granted ;)

Well done mate, that is fantastic! You're just at that stage I am aiming to get to. Feel it is not far away. Must be a fantastic feeling.

Well done ! now to break 90 , treat every hole like a par 5 !!!!!! believe me it helps within months i was shooting low 80s

sorry im editing this post cos it sounds cocky, but my big problem was always consistency of the tea once your in play
then its about course management and decision making then you will break 90 !!!

now how the hell do i break 80!!!!!!

Well done........ I have done it once so far.... prob got a bit ahead of myself since but the winter hasn't helped.... scored 49's playing 9 but not played 18 for a while so hopefully can get back on board this weekend !!!

Good luck in your quest !!!!

Well done mate!!

After a decent winter of playing on our winter course, shooting an average 24/25 over, I have my first round on our main course tomorrow. I've only played it once before, back in early October, when I shot a 112.

Hopefully tomorrow will show an improvement!!!

Well, after yesterday's heroics (in my mind anyway!) I hit the course this morning full of optimism.
Took on board people's advice not to rush, and I was stuck behind a 4 ball which helped, I didn't want to play through.
Took my time on each shot with a few practice swings, and a clear mind, and ended up shooting.........................................91!
Was grinning like a cheshire cat on the way back to the car, maybe breaking 90 isn't far off:D

Awesome work fella! 8 shots overnight! Are you Justin rose really?!
Lol I wish! It's just like a lightbulb went off in my head, had to keep telling myself not to rush, and it really worked! Had a few poor putts insde 6 feet which isn't like me, putting is one of my strong points, so feel like I left a few shots out there too.

First round for me today on our summer course - only ever played it once before, a free round just before I joined. Last time I played, I hit 112... today, 99.

Managed only 3 pars, and there wasw still at least 5 holes with a 7 on it (1 with an 8 :o ), but its still my best round on a full course!

Anyway, played some better stuff today so looking for onwards and upwards...

:D

Well done for two achievements, breaking 100 and breaking 95, easier to think of it in steps of 5 and not tens

Without a doubt its the short game and playing with committment on each shot that can help

Its helped my game i play stronger towards the greens instead of just leaving them short, and i putt to reach or roll past the hole never to leave it short, these in your mind make a big difference and thinking alot about where you wish the ball to land helps.

Keep it up and next target 85/86 perhaps ?
