Believe it or not but its actually cheaper to join than a lot of clubs in the area. Both Sutton GC and Walmley are a lot more. The PGA is £80 in the summer. I reckon we will be paying a couple of quid per round with the amount we will play it (finish work at 2PM mon-fri) they don't really push membership and was told today they only have just over 300 members.

I'd like to add also, from the rounds I've played at the Belfry so far I've found the people a lot more friendly than most other courses. I've come across more stuck up golfers at Pype Hayes where I had a under 25 membership for a year (£100 which was a bargain) I did go to the Belfry with an idea in my head that it would be full of snobs and I really don't fit in well with them types.

Nope, just corporate hackers and chinese members that play £200 a hole (not kidding)

What's the reason behind such a low membership, my thinking would be the amount of visitors playing and members not being able to turn up and play on the off chance. Do you need to book your tee times much in advance and are there slot times that corporate or visitors don't play allowing the course to be clear for members?

Members tee times are 8 to 9. i'm on a 5 day and never struggle to play outside these times. Weekend however is a different story

Low membership numbers is down to perception that the belfry costs a fortune. 5 day pga and derby is £940 with no joining fee

Have never had to wait for a shot on either of the courses yet so can't be that bad. Like I said they don't really push membership and I'm yet to see any advertisement in or around the club pushing it. I guess people believe the prices will be so high (like I did) they don't even ask or don't even know membership exists.

When I played at Pype Hayes I waited up to 30 mins to tee off and up to 20mins in a que on par 3's on many occasions so anything below this and ill be onto a winner.

Green eyed keyboards tonight fella! Fair play and I am tempted to join myself. Whenever I have played (only saturday mornings) i have never had to wait around any longer than other courses.

Davey, Did you join as a full member? Only last week I paid up to join the DVC, with a free 4ball on the PGA thrown in as a welcome.

Played ther PGA twice this year and have found it both challenging and enjoyable.
