Finally a member of a golf club

After my first 18 months of golf and playing various courses around the Midlands I have finally joined a golf club

Today me and my mate joined the Belfry. We get both the PGA and national course and after playing the PGA for the first time today I couldn't be happier. A fellow member of the forum who is also a member has managed to get between us 3 rounds on the Brabazon thrown in aswell so I can't thank him enough.

Now it's time to get my 3 cards submitted and get my first proper HCP.

Recommended by a member on here, a quick phone call and a chat in the bar with the membership advisor about football this morning lol was on the first by 10:40 this morning.

Lol to be honest my brother is a club promoter and his nights are some of the biggest nights in Birmingham and recently Ibiza so the Bel Air is not a club ill be rushing too ha ha

Last time I was there I had to hit driver at the Par3 9th? it was blowing that hard... I've never ever hit a driver at a par3 before, it just felt wrong!

Done Ibiza in the summer (only just recovered) as for Saturday night clubbing... It doesn't really help your Sunday morning round when you get in at 6 AM

Funny how the Belfry website says you need a HCP of 24 to play the courses you signed up for. Did you sneak through due to a nice existing member introduction?

Edited to add: Congratulations bud! Hope you get plenty of use out of it. Also, do you get to play the main course at any point or get good discounts?

Not at all, he recommended I join there he didn't give anyone a back hander to get me in. Anyone can join. As for my HCP my unofficial HCP is 18 (golf shake) so I'm well within the limits and capable of getting round both courses with no problems. Got par on some of the hardest holes holes so I think ill survive.

We got 3 rounds on the Brabazon and I believe we get discounts on there also. 20% off in the bar too.

Still, I agree that PGA National is a much under-rated course, very challenging but still enjoyable.
