Films

Last night I watched

Everly (Prime)

Absolute gory shoot them up, cut them up, blow them up, poison and torture fest. Not one for the squeamish.

The killing of the dog mad me laugh.

We watched Working Man. Imagine Taken, but the girl's dad isn't Liam Neeson this time so they have to coax Jason Statham away from his job on a building site to get her back instead - that's pretty much the jist of it. Standard action film with all the usual tropes, pretty poor script. Filled an evening.

Last night I watched

The Cleaner (sky)

Goody actioner against the terrorists.

A few unexpected twists with a good story line overall.

I suspect the money spent and money earned ratio in Statham's films are pretty strong. He has a formula, loyal fan base, budget is pretty modest. There is a reason he keeps churning these films out.

Half day Fridays for the girls, took eldest to see the new lilo and stitch .

She loved it.. which is the main thing. Dunno what some reviews are on about. I thought was very good..7/10 maybe an 8

Never seen the original but she loves it

Worth the trip

My kids were of an age to see the original. My daughter loved it. She's home for the weekend, 22 now. We'll be going on Monday 😄. We have no shame when it comes to films.

It's really good. I enjoyed it. Well worth a trip

Good way to start half term

Best Scottish Film.

Local Hero gets my vote.

I think I preferred Gregory's girl to LH, but that might just have been the age/time/place I was on first viewing.
I showed my kids Local Hero a few years back (they were probably late teens), and they were unimpressed. Heathens. I guess that more things happen in 90 minutes nowadays...

Gregory's Girl for me...it just resonated so strongly with me...besides with Clare Grogan  what's not to like. One of my fave scenes of any film ever - Dancing

Watched it Friday night and thought “That was a sequel that really didn’t need to be made”
I thought the story was just a rip off of the original, and what’s with the bad CGI? I Expected better from Ridley Scott.
Yeah that’s about my take on it

The scene with the boats and sharks was embarrassing

This morning all I could hear was tears of laughter from the daughter

She found home alone on Disney and was wetting herself watching it

Good to see slapstick comedy still reaches young kids
