Central Intelligence - entertaining hokum with the Rock and Kevin Hart.

Bank of Dave - thoroughly enjoyable feel good film with excellent acting from Joel Fry

Cyrano- the latest version with Peter Dinklage. Surprised to find it a musical, but really enjoying it. Peter Dinklage is his usual superb self.

MrsA had never seen it, so we watched Die Hard on new year's eve. Silly but moderately entertaining.
Payback last night as she chose Barbie. Silly, not particularly entertaining and I really can't see what point it thinks it's trying to make. I'm bemused by the positive reviews it gets. MrsA couldn't figure it out either, so it wasn't just me being cynical. £4.99 and 2 hours wasted.

I thought it made some clever points about sexism, the Mattel board all being male for example, but by the end it became a sledgehammer and the impact was gone. The subtlety of the message early on, effective, was lost and it became white noise.

Brilliantly marketed though, that's where the genius lay.

Felt the same about Barbie. It didn't know what type or genre of film it wanted to be. Found it baffling and had no satisfying confusion, so exactly as you said - two hours wasted.

I have been watching Cleopatra over the past 3 afternoons (it a long film 4hours +)

They do not make them like they used to.

So many actors that went on to be stars with very minor parts.

The film that nearly put a film studio out of business.

I have been watching Rebel Moon in phases (after the darts) not sure about bothering about the rest. Just another 'shoot em up' in Space with echoes of The Magnificent Seven.

Watched The Shawshank Redemption last night. It's on the iPlayer. Seen it a couple of times before, but really enjoyed it again. Hard to believe it is now 30 years old.

One of my favourite films. Usually watch it once a year at least! Or part of it anyhow.

Arthurs Whiskey - awful.
