Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says that a team-bonding trip to famous Scottish golf course St Andrews has helped his side in the Premier League title race.

Ferguson's side were knocked out of both the FA Cup and the Europa League in a short space of time and took the chance to visit his homeland and play a few rounds, a move that developed their bond further.

"They've done well, the lads, the little trip we had to St Andrews was fantastic," Ferguson told the Sun. "I didn't play and I'm glad because there are some bandits at our club. There's no chance you can win. The players loved it. On the Friday about half a dozen of them had nine holes.

"It helped with the unity of the players - it was a good moment for us. It makes you realise when players stay together, they become a team very easily."

I'll let you make your own jokes up......

Not seen the incident yet but Wigan had a goal chalked off in the 1st half tonight that is a dubious decision given by the assistant some 40 yard away. Will wait for MOTD to give my judgement. Surely not another decision going United's way

 did you actually read the first post?

Yes thank you. Doesn't mean I can't move it on a tad. Wigan "cheated" out of a goal seems to tie in nicely with banidt handicap (aren't they cheats too?). Didn't realise I had to get my posts vetted
