Hello all,

Following the interest generated about the Surrey Tour on this forum and the competition we put up yesterday, we have been given permission to run a similar competition for GM forum members for our other amateur tours...

We have the following amateur tours running for 2013:

GDUK Essex Tour 2013 - Play your way to Celtic Manor Resort! - http://www.golfdaysuk.co.uk/golf-days-uk-essex-tour-2013

GDUK Norfolk Tour 2013 - Play your way to Gleneagles! - http://www.golfdaysuk.co.uk/golf-days-uk-norfolk-tour-2013

GDUK Black Cab Tour 2013 - Play your way to Turnberrry! - http://www.golfdaysuk.co.uk/golf-days-uk-black-cab-tour-2013

All ours tours run on the same format:

- 10 events at 10 different courses in the specified county (Black Cab the exception, all around London)
- order of merit scoring system, with your best five OoM points making up the final leaderboard
- the player at the top of the leaderboard after the 10th event will win a set of custom fit irons
- the top 15 in the leaerboard after the tenth event will go forward to play in a grand final and the winner of that event will be crowned the tour champion and will win a golf break to the title sponsors resort in 2014.
- choice of prizes at each event for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and two nearest the pins. Each event winner will also get a pair of Loudmouth golf trousers or shorts of their choosing (worth £75!)
- GameBook live scoring at the two majors and the grand final.
- events from £32 per person

Similar to our Surrey Tour competition for GM forumers, for the first event, when you enter there will be a promotion code box. Simply enter 'GM Forum' and your user name. Five days before the first event, we will then draw a winner and you will get your entry fee refunded to you.

As a bonus, the highest placing GM forumer on the first event will also win their next event for free also!

So in theory, you can get two events free on the tour...

The links for the specific pages are above, these will take you straight to the tour sign up page and more info can be found on there...

If anyone has any questions about the tour, just post them up and I will be more than happy to answer!

Hopefully see you on the tours in February!

Best wishes,

Ben

The loudmouth trousers would be the dealbreaker for me though - vile things!

They are awesome! Without a doubt, the most comfortable golf trousers you can buy! Be different..go Loud!

Can you choose your handicap like on the trilby tour

Hi andycap,

I wouldn't like to comment on the trilby tour!

We monitor our handicap system very closely and many questions have been asked about this, which I can understand... If you check out the Surrey Tour thread on the forum, there has been varoius questions asked about the handicap system and how we implement this... But do feel free to post up any specific questions and I'll be more than happy to answer!

Hopefully see you on the tour!

Ben

I quite fancy this - I like the idea of a mini-tour local to me. No excuses really now I have time on my hands. Hmmm, 1st one on Feb 8th - need this snow to shift so I can get practising.

Ben - quick question that I couldn't see answered on the Surrey tour thread or on your website: What is the significance of the Major events on the tour? Do they count extra or are they mandatory or something else? Or is it just that these are the better/best courses on the tour?

Thx,

Jason

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your questions...

The majors are worth more order of merit points - a bit like a pro major is worth more money to the winner, so well worth playing in!

For example, a regular event is worth 100 OoM points to the winner and a major is worth 125 points...

You don't have to play the majors, but it is obviously an advantage to play in them!

Hope that answers your question, if you have any more, post them up and I will be more than happy to answer...

OK, I've signed up for the Essex Tour and I'm really looking forward to Friday's first event. Always fancied playing some tournaments like this - will probably be as nervous as hell on the 1st but hopefully the other players will be a decent bunch and it will be a good day. Fingers crossed that the weather is kind...
