Not Kick 'n' Clap, a proper game of rugby is taking place and what a great game it is, England out the traps well with some excellent intensity but NZ looking more settled now but not taking their chances, could be a great result...come on England.
It's taking me back 30 odd years to when Grandstand show RL every Saturday afternoon....
Good game so far.
I do enjoy rugby league I have to say but NZ arent the benchmark in that code the Aussies are.
It's not the as good as the proper game though and miles easier, ask Sam Burgess![]()
New zealand are number 1 in the world in RL after winning the four nations and beating the Aussies in the Anzac test in Aus.
Might change after today though![]()
Agree Aussies are the benchmark but the Burgess quote is miles out.I do enjoy rugby league I have to say but NZ arent the benchmark in that code the Aussies are.

He was misused terribly and played miles out of position in yawnion and been made the scapegoat through no fault of his own. Never in a million years is he a centre he was/is a prop forward. Love to see a union prop going to league to become a back! Played all year at Bath in the forwards only for Lancaster to put him on the biggest stage of all with no experience playing totally out of position and all after only 20 odd games in the code. Just glad he is back where he belongs enjoying his game again.
Yes obviouslyMysmilie was lost I you I take it.
Burgess is a class player and given time would have been a superb back rower in union. Unfortunately I believe the RWC call up was wrong which led to him going back to RL and Lancaster losing his job.

You can get excited about yesterday, it was a good performance after the dross of last week, but it wasn't a full strength NZ team.
I don't really know enough about rugby league to comment, I was doing a homer and regurgitating commentators factsIt was not a full strength England side either to be fair
We had Sam Tomkins, Alex Walmsley and George Burgess missing. Thats the words most expensive player, a Man of Steel nominee (should have won IMO) and a beast of a Prop forward. All of these would have been guaranteed to have been selected in the 17.
There are a few fringe players missing that would also have helped bolster the back line too.
I agree and dont think any fan will get carried away with the win though, but it is a great bit of preparation for next years 4 nations.
To call it 'kick and clap' and 'yawnion' is cliched, chip on yer shoulder, northern bollards.
I suppose the following is cliched, chip on your shoulder, Southern bollards.
"The criteria to play for England shouldn't be owning a whippet and having pigeon s@@t on your shoulders".
Have a guess who wrote it in the Stuart Lancaster thread.
