It's been said a lot by the pundits that this is Capello's first tournament - and doesn't it show. Even if it is his first, surely it doesn't take a genius to know you need a squad of fit players if you're going to be playing every three or four days - taking a bunch of crocks is hamstringing you from the off.
Capello seems to know nothing but 4-4-2 but it's not all his fault. The captain has to be more than a figurehead. There are 11 players out there with years of experience of, supposedly, playing at the highest level. If they can see (hopefully) that the plan isn't working then are they utterly incapable of changing it on the fly?
