I was over in a friends today. He is as tight as a fishes ***. He was chasing an R9 Tri on Ebay, 22 minutes left, he was on it, getting near his limit of €160.

On 45 seconds to go he hit his bid €162.50

In all his time watching he forgot to sign in so missed out.
I felt sorry he missed the driver, but nearly peed myself laughing at how he lost out.

Has anyone else ever lost out over something stupid in the heat of an ebay battle.

I always use Auction Stealer to avoid having to frantically bid at the ladt minute - much easier and picked up lots of bargains!

Not on Ebay but a Charity Ball when a carry bag and a round for 4 people was auctioned at a club near Beverly.

I was a bit merry (very very merry in fact) and bid up to £250 - fortunately someone thought I was going higher and outbid me by £5 and dared me to beat him.

By that time HID had kicked me under the table and I kept my hand down :D

I must admit I dont really get ebay, I would far rather use the for sale in the forum etc as I have in the past.
I do laugh when incidents like that happen to people trying to be the "wise" guys.
Hickory shaft, I can imagine your relief over a fiver.
