eBay purchase, am I'm being unrealistic?

Is the 'resin' definitely something like that or could it just be baked/caked dirt from little to no cleaning of the club? I once got a club that looked very similar, stuck the head in hot water for 5 mins and then gave it a rub with a towel and it came up looking well.

Not saying that's what you should do or anything but just incase ebay don't find in your favour maybe you could get it cleaned up a bit and maybe even paint fill the face lines to freshen it up?

It's defo sticky like a glue or something. But no doubt with some solvent or something it will come off. I'm more worried as to why the club has glue on it.... It wouldn't be shaft related as the shafts are screw fit,

lesson learnt. do not buy without seeing a few pics at the very least. I feel your pain though. that club has been bashing rubbish balls at a driving range for months on end.

sneaky sneaky seller. bad feedback so he cant do that to anyone again!

Hold out for your money back, you are right to dispute it. The club is in terrible condition and IMO way beyond the advertised description below.

"Used: An item that has been previously used. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or an item that has been returned to the seller after a period of use. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections. See all condition definitions"

"Battered" would have been much more accurate.

Cheers for the responses, I'm off to clean my sticks before d4s sends the dirt club police round

Might be a good idea because looks mainly like residue from ball coverings, expect most of it will clean off.

And don't take my comments personally, you came on here asking for opinions. Are we all expected to agree with yours?

It was tongue in cheek d4, don't be so sensitive

But your right, it's just grass stains from last round. Clubs are cleaned every other round.

A case of buyer beware perhaps.
A lot of things about that listing would have rang alarm bells for me. A single, odd angle picture and no real description other than standard this and that.
One of the dangers of buying on eBay, I hope eBay/Paypal see sense but I wouldnt hold my breath as the item IS used afterall and while I agree the listing doesnt say it is damaged, nor does it claim its not damaged.

I have seen Paypal disputes be ruled in seller favour based on the above. Good luck with the case.

This sums up exactly for me.

I think you have a decent case Baz.
The original picture in the listing shows a club in decent condition
Personally, if there are any marks, I show extra pictures..if the club is good then I just post 1.
This club needed at least 2 extra pictures to show the real condition.
For me, the club is not as described and you should win your case.
Good luck Bud!

Used could be a couple of sessions down the range or xx years old. Personally, I wouldn't have bought off that listing - not enough pics and not much of a description.

Sorry, but I'd throw your case out.
