eBay purchase, am I'm being unrealistic?

He's a business seller therefore the Distance Selling Regulations apply. You're entitled to an unconditional refund if, within 7 days of receipt, you give written notice that you want to return the item. Paypal will have no choice but to support you. I am a business distance seller on occasions & have been on the receiving end. He has no choice but to refund now that he has identified himself as a business seller.

The days of eBay being the place for bargains is becoming more and more rare.

Yes, you can drop on as I did tonight, but with all their charges it's getting harder as people want to protect their profit.

agree.

back to original question, low number of transactions, one photo and brief description is a steer clear.

I think I would just do it up the epoxy will come off with a bit of heat and solvent. The face can have a light spray of black paint ... Is there any shaft damage? You could then either put it back on or play with it as intended.

As I said earlier I'm pretty certain he should be registered as a business seller. Maybe the fact that he has not stated he is a business could also be used in the dispute. I can't see eBay being happy with him hiding this fact.

paypal always give people who file the complaints their money back, ive found this the hard way, 1 time i sold an altimeter from a mig 29, some Russian fella bought it, i sent it recorded delivery, he claimed he never got it and even with the proof he got it, they still refunded his money. another time i sold a torch, the seller claimed it was fake, (how you can fake a torch is beyond me) he got a full refund from paypal, so with dumb ass claims like this being refunded, id say you'd get your money back ok, as yours is genuine imo

Nice result.

Do you get to keep the club or do you need to send it back, just curious ?

Don't be silly it's got to go back, but very impressed with a new policy of eBay. They provided a return courier label I just have to take it to my local collect plus outlet which is 5 mins away. I can only assume they will bill the seller for this. Once i have dropped it off all I do is enter the receipt number for same day full credit.

Glad you got a good result. Just about to open a case myself. Bought my daughter a pair of footjoys described as great condition. Just opened them after they took 2 weeks to ship and found them filthy and all the spikes worn away, I mean literally nothing left. I've messaged them to inform them of this. If they won't take them back I'll have to go down the dispute route. Fingers crossed.
