...makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise' as the saying goes.

In the summer I love getting up early 5 am ish. The light is great, the dew still covers everything and everybody else is still asleep.
It's as if I've got the whole world to myself for a couple of hours.
Then everyone else wakes up and spoils it.

A friend of mine used to get up early and got 9 holes in before work.

I wouldn't go that far, but does anyone else like getting up early in the summer?

I know Smiffy does but I think that is toilet related

 :D ;)

Bob I play 18 holes most mornings before work. In fact I;m gutted today because I have to be at work by 8 today. From March through September, I am out there most mornings and it's awesome.

I love it, there's a feeling of being at one with nature and the course and world look new if you get my drift, when I was younger we'd hit the course at 5am sometimes, beautiful

It's not often Im asleep after about 5am in the summer.
I have a problem sleeping when it's light so in the summer I get no sleep so I'm knackered and in the winter I get too much and I'm knackered.....

Course closed til 7 am. Not the done thing to break this, as it's a council requirement, and your membership will get suspended. Otherwise, I'd be out there.

jeezuz thats keen !

I'm definitely not a morning person, - sure if I force myself, it is lovely and you do feel like you have the place to yourself.
But in reality, it takes me at least an hour to wake up properly, and I struggle to talk to the dog let alone anyone else before 8.30am.

I never get up early.

Oh, I did once, with a storming hangover to play the old Dutch Open course "Kennemer"

http://www.kennemergolf.nl/welkom.php

up at 5.00, on the course at 6.30.

I hit one of my few ever 300+ yard drives on one hole.

What the hell do the Dutch put in their coffee? :o

Got to the course this morning at 8.00 for 9 holes. Jan was already there warming up on the range.
8.15 tee off, finished by 9.30. Lovely :D
We only just managed to stay out of range of 2 seniors behind us (one in a buggy)
Who said seniors are slow?

Up at 6ish every day to get to work.

Really like walking to the train station in the summer mornings, everything's dead quiet, very peaceful.

Not quite so clever in the winter when no other mug is out of their scratch and I'm fighting the rain/wind/snow/ice to get to work!

we tee off every saturday and sunday from 7am so im up at 530 even earlier if im going fishing normally on the bank for 5 leaving only footprints in the morning dew

Not a morning person. Struggle to get up on a Saturday to play in the roll up. Would happily rock into work about 10 and work until 7 if I could to get a lie in and miss the main commute onslaught

Have you had the bag fitted so you don't have to Bob? :o :D :D

At least I'm not old enough to carry a 7 wood
Now, let me think....who else has just got a new 7 wood??? :D

If I had made the lifestyle change that you had Bob I would be right with you in the early mornings, unfortunately I traded my Trombone in for a computer not a set of golf clubs so boredom 8 till 4.
golf in the summer evenings is not too bad though. :p
I am not sure about the word "carry" though, push is a more apt description. and it is a lovely club with a high flight and soft landing.

Have to say I don't mind getting up early, really enjoy it on nice sunny summer mornings, so quiet and peaceful.
Even in the west of scotland we have late sunsets and an early sun rise.

i love getting up early. I teed off at half 6 last Sunday- finished for 9 when everyone else is just arriving. It's the salmon fisherman in me, all those days of being on the water at dawn- love it, absolutely the best time of day. Not a soul about, weather usually calmer (especially here), just you and the world.

Once you're done you have the whole day ahead of you, although it's nice to go back to bed for an hour.
