Which do you prefer in a competition? Got my teetimes through for a competition today and I'm off at 7:40, 2nd game out. Unfortunately, I'm not what you might call a 'morning person'. I'd much rather have a late time.

:(

I prefer late tee times so that I can get to the course early and practice. I never actually do this though as I get moaned at to play as early as possible so I can spend the rest of the day at home.

early for me im up everyday for work so if i can get out with the lark suits me and saves some grief from HID as i'm home well in time for lunch and family time.

Earlier the better! I love the feeling of a sunny Sunday morning and knowing its not even 10am when I hit the back 9!

My usual was around 8.30 am as the bar opened for breakfast at 7am, grab a bacon roll and a coffee, warm up then head to the tee :D

Stroke Play
Before a round or play-off on any day of a stroke play competition, a competitor must not practise on the competition course.......

Interesting rule, thanks for that. Will need to stick to the practise area.
What happens if someone gets caught playing on the course on the day of a comp. Do you get disqualified.

Yes. We have had players who have been DQed for playing chip shots onto the practice green from an area designated as part of the course. We have a chipping area so there is no need to practice it on the course.

Thx for that Duncan. Every days a school day. I have only been playing seriously for 3 months, so its good to learn these thing. Now for people that have been playing for years, what their excuses.
