Drivers from your past

Give a few examples of what you have owned, what were they like, were did they end up, etc

Callaway FTI Fusion- Straight and long, but sounded like a frying pan, couldnt use in a range to much of a head turner, ended up on Ebay.

Taylormade R7 - Loved this club, ended up selling to a guy at the club for £30, used to get emotional when I'd see it in his bag.

Have had a few , but i think the best I have owned was a Ping G5 with the green Aldila shaft.

My first metal driver was an Impala Petron.

I then upgraded that to a Dunlop Max 357 and thought I was Seve.

Very 1st driver to get me going was the Slazenger K-something that Sam Torrence advertised on TV....less said the better

2nd was the Mizuno MX560. Great forgiving club but sound was horrible.

3rd was the Taylormade R9. Waste of money IMO

Now and present, Taylormade Burner 2010... love this club to bits but i am starting to get the urge for a younger fitter model now.

Lynx persimmon circa 1974, still got it, and used it when i came back to the game 3 years ago. Won a Taylormade burner back in the 80's , one of the original ones with the small head, which was great off the fairway. Ping G10 which had the wrong shaft, and replaced with G15.

Four drivers over 37 years, i must be due a another one.

Going back over the past 25 years:
Slazenger Plus laminated - cheap - really easy to hit - long gone
MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Muirfield Persimmon - expensive - really hard to hit - still got
Ram Zebra (black head, black shaft, looked awesome) - quite long but hard to hit straight - still got
Mizuno T Zoid - Ok, but never really agreed with me - gone to Oxfam
Callaway Hawk Eye VFT - love at first hit - still got
Callaway GBBII - very nice - only just dropped it, lovely size and shape head, easy to hit - still got
Callaway HyperX - sounds a bit tinny but easy to hit and nice flight - in the bag

Only have had three before my current driver am only a kid.

The first was a dunlop kids which i got up and down with for my first birdie from 122yards.

The second was a masters which couldn't go straight but it was probably me.

Then the last was a Md 12* which went a mile untill a few months untill i got my new one. I suffered with it bouncing backwards rather than rolling forwards.

There have been many. A few highlights include:

MacGregor Muirfield persimmon - not easy to get flighted with a balata but a beautiful piece of timber

Orignal Callaway Big Bertha - great club. Seemed big then, tiny now.

Taylor Made 510TP - maybe the best driver TM made

My first driver I owned was a callaway ft-3. I'm sorry I ever got rid of it as it was a fantastic driver.

Next up was a ping rapture v2 driver. Brilliant driver bur just not in my hands.

Now Ive got a Nike vr str-8 fit tour driver. I like this driver and hit it well but I've not got the affection for it that i had for the ft-3
