Without a putter in the bag you are going to struggle.

Driver only adds shots to your handicap (trust me)

Sound advice that.

Get yourself a decent putter.

I would leave the driver until last.

Ash!!

I would say a driver that works for you, putters are less swing specific per se. as in if you can putt well most will do the job just dandy whereas a driver has more factors to take into account with swing speed, natural shot type etc etc

I guess it depends what you want most, a new club will not fix a flaw but will inspire a bit of confidence (initially) :)

got a putter that aint working... your crap at putting! (ninja edit)

I only say this as its a flat face and a back to forwards stroke therfore surely if your putting bad its technique more than the putter. The same for driver but the right driver can help more with some swing flaws

As someone who has swapped both in recent times I would say that finding a suitable putter will add more confidence to your round, and shave off more shots.

However

you don't need to get an expensive putter if it feels right.

My putter is Smiffy's old cast off MD Aladdin. It didn't work for him, but I got an inch chopped off and stuck a 'Yes' grip on it and it feels a million dollars.

:)

Thanks, Smiffy
