DQ from the Comp for NR

Yes we don’t return the cards physically.
We upload the signed card photo to IG after inputting the scores.
I presume that "no card" means the score was not input then .
I know of several players whom I play with that do not have smart phones or do not have the nouse on how to use theirs for such anyway, hard enough to get some to stop using reply to all when answering emails via their phones.

The box for cards is next to the PSI computer and judging by the queue to use it the majority input via it.

Easy for the scorer to look at the number of entries and count the number of cards to check a match.

We have to upload a picture of the card or put the card in the box as you do. Failure to do either is a DQ.
The reason being as you put. :)

I did put “ After Inputting” but even if you input your scores you still get DQ if you don’t upload a photo.

You have to input your scores on the phone then photo the card and upload it.

Not sure the procedure if you use the PSI there must be some provision for the smartphoneless 😳

Rules adjusted and clarified

A DQ is applied to you in regards any “3 DQ’s in a rolling 12 months”

If you just NR the whole card or just give etc

And the sanction is a comp ban

There is a guy at my club that NEVER NR's. He will keep going on a hole running up double digits regularly on multiple holes in a comp. People dread going out behind him, it's a long day..............

In any medal scoring (as opposed to stableford) round I’ll do my absolute utmost to avoiding NRing a round. I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I’ve done that in the last 20yrs. Just something I absolutely want to avoid doing.

My usual reason for NRing is losing a ball.

I hate holding up others in my group and on the course, if I lose a ball I never take stroke and distance.
If the loss is anticipated happy to take a provisional but a bad bounce when the rough is up can easily result in a lost ball which you just didn't expect.

That’s how it should be, not playing the Open.

I'll be honest, if that's the clarified version the original must have been unreadable.
Clear as mud to me.

Basically each NR will have a quick check

If you just NR on a single or maybe two holes but still keep going on the others for HC then it’s just an NR on the result sheet

If you NR the whole card or basically just give up mid way then it will be down as a DQ on the results

3 DQ’s in a rolling 12 month period will be a single comp ban

Every instance of this requires additional action from the handicap committee.

If you NR on a single hole, as far the results of the competition are concerned it's a DQ because that's what rule 3.3c says it is. What's the point of fudging it like this?

In IG when you NR it comes up in the results as NR

You can select DQ as well when managing the results

It will help distinguish between those that have just NR’d a single hole and those that have pretty much given up and not bothered to try their best
