Down at the range

Trainers, I used to wear my golf shoes but dont see the point no. I have enough grip from my trainers and if I slip at any point, its because I am hitting to hard, so it helps with balance and control.

I see some guys at he range dressed in full Golf attire, on a friday night for 45 minutes, why?

Andi, my right shoe has mud staines on the right toe from the wet mats! :)

Horses for courses.

Ideally, spikes for me, but they're not allowed. I haven't asked about soft spikes????

It's an old chestnut.

One thing that does spring to mind though is that if spikes don't sink in as far as turf, it's possible (what d'you reckon?) that one might hit the ball a tad lower off the face on the course....which for a player that hits it a tad thin could be good??

Dunno....could be a theory though.

I always where shoes with soft spikes. Not only for the grip factor but also for helping me to get into the mindset of playing golf when I put them on. Swinging in trainers doesn't feel right, golf shoes are just more stable through the swing.

Mainly trainers for me. Unless its a warm-up before going out, then its the golf shoes. I can't see how wearing golf shoes is going to make any difference on a range. On a practice ground - yes but on mats - not a bit. Obviously a lot of you think it does so I'm not going to argue but I can't be bothered to change.

I've started wearing golf shoes down the range just to help my stance.
