Got my first ever doubles comp next week. It's a knockout matchplay Stapleford.
The scoring allowance for each game in the Doubles Matchplay is 90% of the Course Handicap difference (taken from the lowest Course Handicap).
Course handicap for my partner and me is 9 and 29. Opponents are both 23.

I've been told my partner gets no shots on any holes. oppo get a few and i get slightly more.
Any help appreciated.

Also playing my first singles comp on Sat with 3 I've never met. Should be fun :)

Yes, you partner's allowance will be 90% of 9 PH = 8
Your opponents' will be 90% of 23 = 21
Your's will be 90% of 29 = 26
So your partner plays off 0, you play off 18 and your opponents play off 13.

Incidentally the format is Four-ball Stableford and more conventionally playing in pairs not doubles (that's tennis) ;)

In this format it is 90% CH then full difference from the lowest. So, your Playing Handicaps will be 8, 26, 21 and 21. Shots given will be 0, 18, 13 and 13.
Your singles tie on Saturday is simply 100% of CH, then full difference.

I have never played 4BBB Stableford using matchplay allowances and I have played an awful lot of Stableford 4BBB. We have always used best points on each hole by one member of the side then totalled, best total wins.
