I'm bored with hearing what you feel is acceptable golf wear, your views on trolleys, what are the best waterproofs, how far wull can carry the ball (only joking mate)

What dogs do you have at home?

5 year old German Shepherd called Laudrup, soft as ... but sounds the part, his best mate is our moggy Jackson

Grew up on a farm so always have had dogs , have no dogs here at the min as for some reasons our girls are afraid of them, but there are still 2 sheep dogs at the home place , the older lad is magic would nearly speak to you the younger lad is just a looper (eejit realy) love dogs , my mate had german shepards what smashing dogs they are ,

Really sad thread for me this one. My beloved 9 year old black lab passed away a couple of weekends ago. Beautiful dog with the best temperament ever. I can't face another dog at the moment but for the kids sake I will probably befriend another lab next year.

very sorry to hear that mate

That's a shame bluewolf, they really are more than family.

There's an old saying "money can't buy love" try telling that do a dog owner.

Why not everyone post a pic of their 'best friend', helps to share sometimes.

Paid deposit on a 5 week old Cocker Spaniel on Wednesday evening. The missus has been wanting one for a couple of years but I wanted to wait until the youngest daughter was old enough to at least know how to treat it.
It is a Xmas pressie for the wife (did have to mention to her as there was both a boy and girl puppy available and didnt want to pick that grenade) and casually dropped the next Ballyliffin weekend into the conversation too ;)

My heart goes out to you. My 8 year old Lab Max (see my avatar) is a delight and he for sure healed us after we lost Bonnie (also a beautiful lab).

Sort of changing the subject but my nephew is in Afghanistan and we send him parcels every week. Seems the dog handlers are hoping for generosity for treats for the dogs over xmas. As Max is a failed sniffer dog who we rescued from the army he's happy to share and perhaps your pooches will be too. If so here's the information:

Please Help.....
Army dog handlers working in Afghanistan have a big drive on trying to get people to send dog treats out to them to give the dogs on Christmas Day.

One of the Soldiers is happy to have the parcels sent to him and he will distribute - it would be great if you could send a small parcel of treats (not dog food)

Keep parcels under 2 Kilos and they go FREE from any Post Office. The last posting date to arrive before Christmas is 30th November. Parcels to:

25178756 PTE Downer
Camp Bastion
OP Herrick 15
102 TMWDSU
BFPO 792 “

Let's not forget the working furkids on the frontline this Christmas :))

Cheers Amanda. He is most definately missed and will be near impossible to replace, but we have some fantastic memories

Our dog is 4 yrs old today. She's a Border Collie with one blue eye and one brown eye. She's my 4th Border, the first one was a 5th birthday present and I've had them pretty much one after the other since then.

Impossible to replace for sure. I learnt with Max that the place Bonnie has in my heart is hers for keeps and nothing will ever change that. I also learnt I have a big heart and plenty of space for Max in it too. We feel he thinks we saved him and yet he saved us - lovely soft oaf that he is :)

Used to do a fair bit with rescue dogs.

Had a Doberman bitch - Jess, fantastic dog

A mental boxer, Bo , mad as peas.

A fair few rotties that I trained for rehoming, not a lover.

A couple of retired mine detection dogs, Belgian shepherds that were fantastic but not good with anything smaller than them.

We've got a Patterdale terrier at the moment and she is fantastic, possibly the best behaved and most fun dog ever.

Cheers
