The scenario,
I'm on the 15th tee 162 yards, over water with the pin tight to the front. I hit an 8 iron off the ground rather than teeing it up and it flies straight and true to the green, bounces, checks and in the hole.
The conundrum,
There is no one else out there, not a soul, not even a greenkeeper.
So does it really count?

of course it counts. also saves you having to buy a round

One of my mates also claims that he had a hole in one while playing by himself.

We just tell him it doesn't count as far as we are concerned.

I you have a hole in one and none is there to witness it did it make a sound?

Yes it counts but it's not one you can really boast about.

My mate has had 3 holes-in-one during bounce games(all witnessed) - he doesn't count any of them as he has no countersigned scorecard to verify. He wants a medal one to make it count for real.

I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same if it happened in a bounce game, but a part of me feels he's just being a smug Jeremy Hunt
