Do layers affect your swing?

I don't like tight fitting clothing so avoided base layers for years. How foolish. I bought a top last year, £5 from Mountain Warehouse, and it has changed winter golf for me. They have no impact on my swing and in fact improve it as I do not have to wear other more cumbersome layers on top now. Weirdly, although tight to put on it does not feel tight 5 seconds later. Definitely recommended to anyone who has not joined the base layer fashion yet.

Wearing a waterproof jacket does impact for me as even if it is psychological I feel as though I can not swing as well or as fluidly as when I don't wear one. When I take it off I probably over swing for a couple of holes in compensation. Daftness.

Looked VERY carefully before I bought my Galvin Green waterproof jacket. Tried both the Paclite GoreTex and the Performance GoreTex. Went for the Paclite as it is lighter and easier to swing in. I only bought a waterproof jacket to stay dry, not warm so if it's cold I layer up. ;)

I'd have agreed with feeling restricted by extra layers and it affecting my swing up till a year or so ago when I went out and invested in some base layers and decent waterproof jackets - what a difference these have made to golf compared to the clothing we had to wear even jsut a few years ago.

My heros. Feel happy in the knowledge that you guys have given me links to clothing that will stop my goolies from shrinking. I will think of you every time I slip em on.

Not sure I can ever look you in the eye (but definitely not anywhere else) with that thought in my head. Save it for the opposition in the winter knockout

I use G400 SKINS compression wear for summer and winter, but I've got a Pelham and Strutt compression sculpting top that's the tightest compression top I've ever worn. There's 6 stages in the instructions to take it off!!!!
