A good plane (or three), several spokeshaves ... and get friendly with a local hardwood supplier and your local reclamation yard.
several spokeshaves
A decent sander.
Two most used tools in my garage/workshop are my pillar drill and my band saw.
What did you buy that you never use
One of the first items I acquired when moving into my first home, 40 or so years ago, was a B&D workmate... Still got it [a bit battered and bruised but not broken] used this for many 'projects' over the years and would've been lost without it... Every workshop should have one without a doubt...
Good call!
Mine is battered and bruised too, and wouldn't be without it! And it has the flip out legs to make it higher for some jobs - very useful.
I use mine to keep most if the other tools on that I barely use!
Don't think anyone mentioned a nail/staple gun...........Tick
Get a good compressor, around 50L with a good flow rate and you can get a multitude of attachments including nailers/staplers. My compressor is far and away the most valuable piece of kit in the workshop.
The nailer I bought is electric so no need for a compressor![]()

Far too sensible Khamelion, duct tape, cable ties and wd-40. You can fix anything in the world that is broken with those alone.
