Diesels - do they have a future?

Yeah, I agree, A diesel would be the best bet for what LB described. I had a quick squint on autotrader when I posted this yesterday and saw £12k was at a push for the Qashqai (below). With his powers of negotiation though i'm sure he could grind them down :)

But while many are better off buying a non-diesel car, diesel engines still have a place. Their efficiency and power are ideal for high-mileage drivers and heavy sport utility vehicles (SUVs). As demand drops, you may get a bargain too, while buying on finance can protect against an unexpectedly high loss of value.
