I've been playing golf for 60 years. Today I parred the first nine holes & I can't remember doing that before, ever. Must have gone to my head because I started back 6 (three over), 6 (two over) before recovering my composure & playing the last 7 in level par. Had it been a medal round I would have been tearing my hair out.

Hair :D

Maninblack, that really was a cracking 9 holes, well one.
However from the title of your post I was expecting something a little racier!

Great shooting sah.
I was 1 under through 3 the other day, half gloated to my pp and then proceeded to go double, double, treble.
Vaughan seems to be a good name for crap scoring lately 😅

Did you check your score after 9? And if so, do you think that your mind set changed?

At a lesser level, I find that if I have a run of say 4 good holes, I end up over thinking my swing because, suddenly - "I'm a golfer, and golfers think"!

Well done Squire.

That is some impressive scoring if you have been playing 60 years, hats off to you.

I'd had 9 straight pars! Even my befuddled brain could keep track of my score under those circumstances.

Does that mean you've cracked golf?

I'm managing to hit every Fairway at the moment and a lesson from the 1973 Dutch Open champion a couple of months ago put me on the right track, together with eliminating the tempo destroying long pause I had at the top of the swing. Feel as if I can hit the green with anything up to a 3 wood at the moment, they're going so straight. Only time will tell if this is temporary.

I played Bamburgh last Sunday and I think I managed to miss every fairway. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. That means we both had consistent rounds but in very different ways. I prefer your way, ha ha. Off to the range tomorrow before a round at Rothbury as part of a society. I will use your front 9 as inspiration .

I hope you keep it up. Golf when played that way is a much easier and more fun game.
