Did Kenny Perry improve his lie

Even if he didn't get pulled for it you'd have thought he would have had to explain his actions in the same way McIlroy did at Augusta.

That said there have been incidents of players being D/Q'd following calls from people watching at home and having studied the video an infringement has occured and a player has therefore signed for a wrong score. I would have thought if he had broken the rules it would have been picked up at the time or someone would have asked the question. I do think it looks very dubious though but I guess if they haven't pinged him we have to assume it was ok.

Yes...you can't see the ball at the start of the clip but after he "addresses" the ball several times it's clearly visible.

I'm convinced that if this had been picked up at the time of his FBR Open play-off in Feb he would have been penalised rather than discussing it with the player at the TPC in May.

Definitly improving his lie.
Anyone else but 'good ol' Kenny Perry' would have been pulled.

Don't think anyone would have got away with it on the Euro tour.

mono - read the rules again:

"However, the player incurs no penalty if the action occurs:
• in grounding the club lightly when addressing the ball"

Did he ground his club lightly when addressing the ball? Did he hell!

What does it for me is how little you see of the ball when he first walks up to it. As soon as he taps down the grass you can see most of the ball.
You are allowed to place your club behind the ball..in doing so I'd expect to see more of the ball. It looks dubious, the hit on the floor looks like one to remove a blade of grass from the clubface, almost an instinctive movement. It's one of those that I'd rather leave to the video review comittee :D

I’m the video review committee and it’s cheating. He doesn’t address the ball he puts his club behind it and taps the grass down from what I see 4 times.

What everyone is missing is the fact that he’s doing it with one hand, he’s not even attempting to address the ball.

Lets put it another way, is it okay to tap down the grass several times behind your ball…………..no.

End of story.
