Have lost over the last year a couple of teeth, on each side which sums up the general disrepair my teeth are in.

Have been quoted between £ 8,000 - £ 15,000 for both the implants and to sort everything out which has me gulping

Any one else had implants etc....and how did they go?

Had a molar done 9 years ago. I won’t lie it was the most traumatic thing I have had done to me.

The process also goes on for a long time 4 or 5 months in my case.

That being said I am happy with the way it performs.

I was recently quoted £40k to sort all mine out, I have more loose teethe than solid, so I’ll give that a miss and I’ll be entering gurning competitions shortly instead ?

We're in the wrong game .....

Know some one who went to Turkey and paid a fraction of what he was quoted in the UK, what's the golf like in Turkey ??

Thankfully I have not had this done but I think that sounds expensive. The huge variation in the quote would also set alarm bells off for me.
I thought a single implant was about 2k.
I'd be looking for a second opinion.

sounds like the best idea, and as BiM says it's a long way to back to Turkey etc..if there is a problem

If you do proceed with this do your research , a colleague of mine's wife had them and the outcome was shocking .She had years of pain and plenty of remedial operations.
She may be an isolated case but if anyone was going to do any major work inside my mouth i would want to make sure the aftercare and all back up services were included
and the dental surgeon was skilled at the procedure with plenty of positive feedback.

The variation will likely be due to different overall treatment plans.

For example, suppose someone has no teeth in their top jaw.

They could have two implants placed and then be provided with an implant retained full upper denture (i.e. a denture you remove, but that clicks onto the implants with a ball and socket joint, or by magnets).

Or, they could have multiple implants placed and combinations of crowns and bridges on top.

Option 1 would likely be much more expensive than option 2, but both might be equally feasible outcomes.

Different dentists will reccommend different treatment plans. Doesn't mean one is wrong and one is right. Just a different way of solving the problem.
