Good choice, I'd say.

I had some beginner (G.I.) Mizunos and never liked them as much as my Mizuno Blades. What I should have got was something in between...you know, suitable for a good player yet not too silly. I reckon these are just that!

Nice one.

PPE.

This is going to be very difficult for me to say. I don't know you (but I do know that you maybe a bit indesive, and get buyers remorse), and I've never seen you play or even swing a club.

I have the MX19s and was looking forward to getting to my target of 15 h'cap to purchase a set of MP52s, or whatever is their equivilent in 20 years!!

Having read MWJs (hope I got that right) account of blade(ish) clubs, and my own thoughts about getting the best score, and not looking like I can get a good score, but not being able to. I would support your decision on the MX200s. I know you might think that we're just congratulating you on your purchase, regardless of what you buy. But I got the feeling from the forum that the praise for the MX200 choice, was genuine. For being the right club of the two for you.

Tell the pro to stuff it. Does he have 'X' number of CFs a day as Simon at Clay's does? Does he have all the information that Simon had available at Clay's? Does he have all the different options to try as you did at Clay's?

If the answer to any of these is 'no'. Well there's your answer.

Sour grapes if you ask me.

Enjoy your 200s, and go have a good round, post a phenominal score and hold your head high.

Good luck.

Great reply hapless.

My line of thinking is that I have gone to a huge amount of trouble to ensure that I went to a 90min fitting session with Mizzy and also had a fitting session with Ping, to make sure that I had the RIGHT clubs and lets face it I will probably cream these babies when I get them and say what was all the fuss about.

Anyway, I wanted to change my irons & wedges now and not have to change them again for 3 or more years not have to change them in 3,6 or 12mths! And as I am paying £500, it's a lot of money in anyones books. However when you think that I spent £400 on the irons and got 2no wedges worth £140 for FREE then I suppose I only paid £260 for the MX-200's which I'm sure I could for roughly that on ebay in 3or6mths if our marriage was to be a rough one!

I personally think the MX200's are one of the best looking clubs on the market at the moment. Not clunky at all, and don't look like an out and out game improvement club. They have a lovely feel when you do connect with one, and the more lofted irons impart a lot of spin on the ball. I flushed a nine iron the other day, (one of the few proper shots I hit), and watched it bounce once, check and spin back a good 5 or 6 feet. I could never do that with my old irons. I've just got to get my confidence back and I will have no qualms about stepping up onto the tee with these in my bag. I have the light 950 Nippon shafts (regular) fitted to mine, and they feel really good in my hand. My mates have had a go with them and are also impressed. I don't think you should have any doubts whatseover that you have selected the wrong clubs Pete.
I paid £445.00 for mine (4-PW with matching 50 & 55 degree wedges) with the custom shafts, upgraded multicompound grips (in blue to match the logo ;)) so you got a very good deal mate.

I wouldnt class the mx200 as game improvement they have smaller heads than x20 tours etc

My mate has the mx 25s which are similar to the 200's and i my opinion they are more like players clubs than GI clubs, the long irons yeah are game improving style but 7 down with the minimal offset are as good as any iron out there.

Its not how well you hit them on a good day its how you hit them when you having a bad one and the 200 will be much better
