Decent golf, a rarity, but worth the wait.

Yesterday it all came together for me on the course, it was the first time i've felt 'tuned in' all year really.
It was just a bounce game with my brother but we played off White tees, we played matchplay to keep it interesting but holed out everyhing. We both started with a birdie, and proceeded to play some great golf, I was -2 after 6 but finished the half +1 and only 1 up. I was pleased with my first half, but even more pleased in a way with my second half, although 40 on the second 9 isn't great I kept my game going nicely which is what i've been struggling with lately.
My driving was so good i'd be mad to buy a new driver (5 drives 300+, missed 1 fairway), ball striking was great although not as accurate as I can be and my short game was far better than it has been of late. It's just nice to play something like I know im capable of. It's my best score off the white tees, a 77, net 67 but as always could have been 5 shots better.
Roll on the club champs in 2 weeks.

nice round off the whites, just dont load ya self up with pressure trying to play to it all the time, and enjoy the smiles this round has delivered

Nice one EaseNGrace. Hopefully you're hitting some form just in time for your club champs. Unfortunately, our club champs came right in the middle of my worst spell of the year but there's always next year right?

Dave- I'm not putting too much pressure on myself to do well in the champs. Thats when I play my worst golf, so i'll just take it easy and hope I have one of those days when it all slots together. It was the first non-competitive round i've had for months so that could be why I was a bit more relaxed.
I never thought i'd walk off the 9th +1 and thinking in the back of my mind I should be 3 or 4 under. We also had a game friday which was similar. I had 8 birdie putts under 20ft in 9 holes (but only made 1), so I must be hitting the fairways and greens, just need to start making those putts.
I hope you win the Club champs Dave (as long as you dont beat me by 1) you need to re-take the top spot on the order of merit.

You could see the potential at Ascot so I'm glad its finally clicked and it sounds as though you are approaching the comps with the right mind set. Good shooting
