Visited the in-laws yesterday for the first time in quite a while.
They had a lovely new white Samsung LED television, "smart" capabilities, and 3D.
But they don't have Sky 3D, a 3D blu ray player, and have no intention of going on the internet to utilise the "Smart" functions.
When I asked why they bought that particular set, my Mother in Law said........"I liked the colour"

I read a report that stated that when we buy the latest technology in any market, computer, TV, Phone etc we at best only use them to around 20% of their capabilities.

Is it just a case of wanting to own the best or latest product, or in your in-laws case, the right look and its function-ability comes 2nd!

Sounds like my in laws, although the mother in law was chuffed she realised her surround sound had wifi and love film on it, and she set it up!

It's only taken her two years to keep her wireless router switched on, always turned it off if she wasn't using it at that moment in time

LOL sounds like my Dad, he turns his mobile phone on to make a call, then switches it off to save the battery! LOL

its actually quite hard NOT to buy a SMART tv these days. They will off course be able to access FREESAT plus once you show them the powers of the T'interweb they can be silver surfers

I recently bought a fantastic tablet, does everything i could ever need, apparantly!!

Turns out I only ever use it for GM website and ebay...... ooooh the capabilities!

Same with all technology though isn't it.

My iPhone is used for calls, texting and GM forum surfing... Got a load of apps I downloaded when I got it that now never get used as with all new toys the wanting to constantly fiddle with it gets boring after a while and simply becomes a functional device.
