Looking at custom fitting some new shineys for me :D so was going to demo day but that was cancelled.
So instead went to the driving range and they said all standard apart from lie 2deg UP.? So I thought that was that sorted.
but pooped into my local AG and one of the pros where I used to play said that was strange as its high & he has seen me hit a ball, so did a quick test with the sticky paper on the bottom of my current club and was hitting it in the middle?

now booked into AG custom fit on Friday ,but if its different who do I believe?? the one where I hit down the range with my new intended club or into a curtain at AG ?

Is custom fitting all that it seems?

If the tape is showing middle then the evidence is there and you probably don't need the 2 degrees upright. Are these fittings on a launch monitor & did you take your own clubs along?

I'm guessing that, unless your swing is constant time after time, if you got custom fitted at 3 separate fitters you would come out with a slightly different set up at each. They may all well help you and be better than off the peg, but probably would not be exactly the same.

Different manufacturers have different standards. 2 degrees up might be a degree flat with another make. Are you looking at like for like?

No it's not. In January, I was fitted for irons - stiff shafts. I've changed them all since (on the advice of 2 independent club fitters) to regular/lighter shafts and the difference is unreal!

My advice, is go to more than one club fitter to avoid expensive mistakes

Provided you've got a repeatable swing the lie tape will tell you all you need to know.
Don't get hoodwinked if you aren't happy dont buy and don't get worried if you are 2 degree upright as everyone is different.
Personally I wouldn't buy unless there was a range so I could see the ball flight as I dont trust launch monitors by themselves
A good idea is to try the Ping static Web Fit, it'll give you an idea,. I needed plus 0.5 inch Shafts and 3 deg upright and Im only 6ft 1 but they fit me perfectly and my ball striking is so much better.

Hitting a ball into a curtain in an AG store is not a proper custom fit (or any other high street retailer for that matter). You need to be able to see the flight and not rely on the computer to give you all the information.

No looking at the Callaway xhot-they were the ones i tried on the full fitting and the R11 (the ones i have ) was used on the quick test fitting afterwoods, so maybe you are right

Ive always been told not to take much from what places like AG say about custom fit, how convenient that they almost always have your specs readily avaialable?

my mate was custom fit for the new RBZ irons, he has the flattest swing possible, and also has the toe 2 inches in the air at address.

he left with standard loft and lie!
