I think you should keep all of them and just get a couple of new Mizuno tour bags and a set of JPX woods. Then you can have a full set of clubs for each day of the week
WOW, I though it was just me but I have Mizuno MP62's and whilst they're arguably the straightest irons I've used I lost alot of distance compared to the MX23's they replaced. I thought it was just my swing change and the winter weather which dropped my distance but it carried on into April so I found a cheap set of Titleist 710 CB irons and found with my 7 iron I went from 130-135 yrds with the MP62's to 158-165 with the titleists, which is just ridiculous.Had a Mizuno fitting at New Malden today. I always suspected my shafts weren't right and this proved it beyond all doubt.
I've always had decent length with my woods but been pretty short with my irons. Well that's all about to change as my 6 iron is going from 155 yards (MP62's with DGR300 shafts) to 178 yards (JPX800 pro with Proj X rifle 5.5).
Superb session with Mark Yonwin at the National fitting centre.
I'll post the figures in a sec for anyone who's into geek data!!![]()
I've not tried the JPX Driver, but Rick, feel free to have a crack with my 3 wood when we're at Beau. It's a Beaut.
Nice result Rick..
Don't forget, though, that the 800 Pro 6 iron is already 2degrees stronger than your 62's and you had it de-lofter by another degree. That could mean 10-15 yards purely on loft.
Still a good result though
Enjoy - I know you will
Less than a year old so pretty good but with the usual bag chatter and scratches. The 6 iron has a stone chip right on the bottom but doesn't affect playability. Will be posting piccies in the for sale section later tonight. So are you selling the MP62's then? What condition are they in?
How come you got fitted at the national fitting centre and then got the clubs from AG? Was there a big price difference?
Nice Rick, How come you got fitted at the national fitting centre and then got the clubs from AG? Was there a big price difference? Also I was going to say the same as Ian about the lofts, really your playing a 5 iron. That said the JPX are infamously long, when I was fitted for my MP-53 the fitter said I was 10-15 yards longer with the JPX Pro but they were not as tight for me. I would guess you could play with anything though really Rick... and let’s face it, you have tried, hehe. Those Nike blades are a sexy bit of kit, shame to see them go just from an aesthetics point of view.
Will you be trying the MP or JPX woods out? I know you like things to match up. I think the MP woods have a pretty innovative weighting system. I have not heard anyone rave about them though, as per the usual Mizuno wood indifference.
Welcome back to club Mizzy (not that your really left)

The Mizuno fitting centre is upstaire & AG is downstairs. You have your fitting, then you get given the spec sheet and then you are free to go wherever you want to get the irons. AG send the order through to Mizuno and then Mizuno deliver them to AG.Nice Rick, How come you got fitted at the national fitting centre and then got the clubs from AG?

Don't forget I already have the MP630 fast track driver & MP 3 wood....nice but not as long as the Nike VR. Although I like to match, I'm not going to do it at the expense of yardage, (and it's quite a lot - probably 15 - 20 yds difference)Will you be trying the MP or JPX woods out? I saw that you had ended up with one of these but I think it happend when I was off becoming a daddy. I seem to remember the last we talked that you had your eye on the 910F. Is there a post about your fitting or shopping? I played the JPX when I had my GM fitting(See this months mag, Im the good looking one!!) I found the JPX with the inhouse shaft to be solid but maybe unspectacular for me.

I agree with region - S300 would have been interesting too,
I agree with region - S300 would have been interesting too,
I've got these in the Nikes and they are just waaaay too heavy. The DNA showed I need a lighter shaft and the S300 was way over on the right hand side of the chart. This was demonstrated when I swung my Nike 6 iron and the reading was down 10 mph from the JPX with the PX 5.5 and down 20 mph on MP 62 with the DGR300.
Of course it might just be that I have puny arms!!!![]()
its shocking though that a heavy shaft cost you 10mph on an iron swing but more shocking still is that your distance was still better with -10mph than with the MP62.
