England start their test series against Sri Lanka today in Cardiff, With Rain forecast for the 1st and 5th days.

We won our last test series against the Aussies,

So whats our chance of winning against Sri Lanka?

First time for 3 years Sri Lanka been out of Asia for a test series. England at full strength and should be too strong for a weakened Sri Lanka side who have yet to replace the lynchpins of their bowling (Murali, Vaas and now Malinga). Add to that what bowling they do have over here have injury probs and they are also missing all rounder Matthews and its very hard to see how they get 20 wickets.

SL strength clearly reliant on their top order battings, Dilshan, Sangakarra and Jayawardene are all top class though may all still be in T20 mode having come from the IPL and at times they will clearly score decent runs, but hard to see it being enough to stop England.

Of the pitches Cardiff most likely to suit the tourists often being slow and low and quite a surprise theyve only picked one specialist spinner for this test.

Would expect England to win the series 2-0 maybe before they face the far tougher task of India later in the summer

I think you just summed it all up there Fundy. It will be hard to stop england atm. Plus I think our bowling attack to top notch!!!! so it will be good watching them bowl!! :D

I need Boycott tslking so I know who to punch even when I'm not looking. The guy is a total second-guessing a**hole who ranks even higher up my s*** commentator list than Peter Senile Alliss.

Cricket is only worth listening to, and then only when Geoff Boycott is talking.

He's so far up his self-important asre, someone should tell him he was just an average opener and still thinks he's watching Randall, Close and Sobers.
