Credit Card Balance Repayment

Say I buy something on a Credit Card by mistake as I don't use the credit card - i mean to use my Debit Card but get them muddled and only realise this when the Credit Card statement comes in. I clear the balance on the credit card (to avoid charges etc) but now the trader tells me he can only refund to the credit card. But as I don't use the credit card I would have a positive balance sitting there that I won't use. So I want the money off the credit card and into my bank account. How would I sort this without getting charged for a cash advance?

Manually Withdraw that exact amount from a hole in the wall with ur credit card & lodge it in your account

You will only get charged for cash you withdraw on credit , if you have money in the account and dont exceed that MOST C Cards wont charge you ..

Also you dont realy want too much credit on your credit card because in case of fraud the bank only cover their money , not ur money
OR

id say if you went into the local branch they could probably do a bank transfer for you ..

Call the helpline number for your credit card and they will refund your positive balance.

See how much you are in credit on your credit card and next time you fill up your car buy exactly that much petrol and pay on your credit card. Hey presto you're back to a zero balance without worrying about cash advances or money transfers.

You and I would do that - my mum doesn't want to use the credit card AT ALL. Just need to get the money off it into her bank account.

This happened to me recently, ended up with a positive balance on a card I didn't have a pin for. I called up and had it refunded to my bank account. Very straightforward.

Sort the balance out and cut the card up and cancel the account if it's not to be used???????
