course vandalism

happened at a new course where i live...rumours were the owner hadnt paid for work done on course...nevertheless terrible to see as a golfer

Well Omagh isn't rated that highly but I like it... Each to their own

Strabane is a fantastic course. Some beautiful holes at it and as said the greens were great. The club house and members were very friendly when I played there last year with a society. Shame to see it destroyed like that but I suppose it's one of the risks associated with it's location.

Omagh is nice enough, there are much worse, but the fees are at a point were they are pushing more people away than they attract. Took a lot of deliberation to renew myself this year. They need some form of marshaling or deterrent. I swear there are people playing the bottom nine without ever paying a penny. People also destroyed the new short game area by taking divots out of the new green not long after it had been seeded. Greens were in good nick last year, shame the turned them into beaches just before the season really starts to get going this year. Hope they recover back to what they had last year. A few greens there got vandalized a while back as well. That was kids from the area. In the summer I chased a group of kids from the 11th. They were using the 12th's tee box and the 11th green as a pitch and putt. I know they probably returned after I made my way down the 15th though.

Newtown is nice when there hasn't been much rain. Can't handle much water at all before the greens start to flood. Great playing somewhere with deer and pheasant dandering around nearby while you tee off.

Havent played Omagh but I should be soon as the Jimmy Bruen qualifying is there this year i believe

Might have to get a game organised with one of you members down there soon to get a look round before the qualifying:mmm:

It's a shame that people abuse the bottom 9 I enjoy playing it but it is far too crowded with people that couldn't be members. The practice facility looks great something that our club desperately needs!!
