Ok. Teed off at 7.20am today. At the 9th green, we were 3 up. A guy from the clubhouse then came out & told us course was closed. This was at 9.45. He said the course was closed from 9am.

Our FC shook our hands and walked off the green (they had conceded the hole).

Pro shop then said we could have played on. Greens were un-puttable.

Do we just scrap the game & start again? Do we pick up on another day from the 10th tee? Do we play on from when the course closed at 9am (somewhere by 7th tee?)?

Very confused. Obviously I'd prefer to pick up the game from 10th at 3 up!

Format is pairs greensomes. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I'd certainly be looking to start from the point you ceased play at the first attempt. I'd certainly not be looking to start from the 1 st tee again.

It may depend on how your club have written their rules for that comp though.

Pretty sure it'll be from the point you stopped.

Not sure how the comments from the pro shop should be intepreted though ... how can they say you could of played on if the course was closed? Makes no sense!

Rule 6-8d
Procedure When Play Resumed
Play must be resumed from where it was discontinued, even if resumption occurs on a subsequent day.
