Only played 2 full years at my track, just into 3rd year now...MOST of that time its been poor weather conditions.....wet,windy,cold etc etc.

With the recent improved weather spell the course is now not only looking the best Ive ever seen it,but playing the fastest too....eg....I am not a long hitter at all but always been ok at driving in the main, and over the last few months feel there has been a good improvement in that, best part of my game,maybe....Anyway today played our 'top 4 holes' 3 times in 90 mins on my own.....1st hole is a par 4..282 yards off the yellows.....my 3 drives were 3 foot 6 foot off the green and my 3rd reached the green level 15 yards left of it.......little if any wind,I am getting SO CLOSE to driving this green, still a great feeling.

The 2nd hole another par 4 is 340 yards with bunkers approx 20 and 50 yards off the green.....2 of my drives reached the 290 area level with 1st bunker and the other was just short of it......our 3rd is a par 5 hardest of the par 5's on the course...I sneaked onto the white tee and hit a 240 yard drive(slightly rising fairway) then a 190 yard hybrid leaving about 50 yards to the pin..lob wedge 2 putts BANG par....

I emphasize I am not a long hitter so this proves the ground conditions are now the fastest Ive ever known..long may it last,we all hope.

Oh and tomorrow our 7th green REOPENS.....its been dug up and relaid and cost 15 grand to sort... looking FANTASTIC before we play on it...and made into 3 TIERS....with this and its 'newness' its surely going to be just about the best green in the surrounding area.

Now IF only I could get out of bunkers ok.......:(

Cheers all

Kev

A par five at ours, hit driver and had 246 yards left down wind down hill firm fairways and stiffed it to 15ft with a 6 iron for an eagle chance! Needed to putts to Win the hole (singles knockout!) birdied it!

Nice one pal,but it wont wind me up.

Funny how I never saw you get near that mark at Goswick!!!...lololololol
Now now lads, nee need for it.

Kev, good to hear Garesfield is in good nick. I really like the course and its just a shame we had two crap years of weather in our first 2 seasons playing. Stocksfield is playing super quick as well and our greens are in awesome condition, reading super high on the stimp meter.
