Hi,

Quick question.

I was recently on a golf trip over in northern France. we played against a local team (match play). We also played a stableford competition for team members and the rest of the people who were not included in the team.

We had some poeple start on the 1st tee and some on the 10th. Two people finished with equal best score, so we had a count back. here's my question...

What should you count back from, the courses back 9 or the players back 9? :D

many thanks.

it would have to be over the same holes i.e. the courses back nine.
Youd could not use the players back nine because the par and the stroke index be may different.

I didnt say but the two players obviously started on different holes. We ended up having a vote, out of 28, 15 for the course and 13 for the player.

So it would seem we made the right choice...

Many thanks..

Countback is an arbitrary process, so it doesn't matter which holes player started on, it operates the same way. If countback doesn't separate the players, you toss a coin.
