My old speaker bass/control unit & on/off/volume switch separately but it has broke itself, had it for years.

Would like similar to the old setup (a couple of speakers and a bass unit, or combined if they sound good but must have a quick on/off/volume switch so I can turn it off quickly)

Anyone have any ideas on a good sounding setup, suppose wouldn't spend more than £50 on the setup (but may spend upto £100 if it had its own higher output sound card, to create better and louder music of say 50-100 watts, think I saw a setup that had its own sound card?)?

Found a few setups, on places like argos, but then read reviews and if just confused me, what would work and what would sound okay ?

Any ideas, The speaker in the monitor does not sound good and can barely hear it;)

Many thanks.

To me improving the quality of the sound is more about improving the quality of the speakers. A low wattage amp with good speakers is better that a high wattage amp with poor speakers.
