I have a handful of Ryder Cup bits that we were given out when we registered at the media centre, notepad, official programme, pen, Ryder Cup radio (minus the headphones as they have been in my ears and I didn’t think anyone would want a bit of my ear wax!).

Anyway these goodies (Heck I'll even throw in a dozen Nike one golf balls) will go to the person who in the opinion of the judges (i.e. me) submits the best post about their favourite moment of the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Your submission could be a 200 word mini article, a pithy one sentence effort, a link to a picture or frankly anything.

This is open to till lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday)

As Stuart Hall would say, away you go to the inflatables

Other than Europe winning.

Luke Donald's wood shot from out of the left hand rough on the 14th when partnering Poulter.
The commentators kept going on about the depth of the rough and how penal it was. Therefore by using his normal smooth, steady swing and not by trying to force it: to get it out, carry the pond and get it close was fantastic.

It may sound strange but I'm going for an American. From the little I got to see Rickie Fowler had a bit of a turbulent debut tournament, but the American fightback on Monday was perfectly reflected in Fowler's stunning come back against Molinari. Winning the last three holes to keep the Americans in the mix was a brilliant performance. And also without that sterling contribution we would never have had the intense drama of G-Mac's triumph.

Standing in the pouring rain, soaked from head to foot, flipping a coin to determine if we were going to stay and hope for play or go home. It was 1.55 and they'd just put play back till at least 4pm. Heads we stay, tails we go.

Came down heads, we stayed and saw Ian Poulter's putt on the 10th in the half-light and screamed away all the frustrations.

For me would have to be Rory's up and down from the bunker,he must have been under enormous pressure but got the half that proved vital.

Has to be when Hunter Mahan duffed his chip to the 17th the camera went to Monty and he mouthed "Thats it we've done it". that was the moment when he realised his dream had came true.

Again, a strange one, but Tiger on Monday is a stand out. Pillored this year, and then throughout the competition, going to down to a Molinari who had found his putting touch could have all been too much.

However, what we saw was the true colours of the world number 1 and a fantastic performance. Hitting fairways and holing puts brought back memories of yesteryear, all couple off by the eagle on 12. The pictures of him gesturing to the camera to see whether it was in and his subsequent grin could have led you to believe the last year hadn't happened.

Poults unadulterated joy takes a lot of beating but for me Francesco Molinari on the 18th on Sunday. Hadn't been able to sink a putt all day long then come the moment when there is absolutely no escape and he does it. Was that the vital 1/2?

I'd go for the first tee banter on Monday morning. Everything that the Ryder cup stands for, competitiveness and not in a nasty way. Both sets of players laughing and joking along with the crowd. Quality, you don't get that anywhere else.

And it was really funny.

For me it's from the singles yesterday and McDowell's second shot into 16 and then the following birdie putt.

I was stood on the banking in front of the hospitality box and you could see the shot coming in from the middle of the fairway and the eruption of noise when it pitched onto the green. Follow that great shot with the putt which seemed to take an age to get to the bottom of the cup. Sheer class under the pressure.

Sorry Mike but I think it was Ron Pickering on "We are the champions" that said that

Homer, I stand corrected. Getting my 'It's a Knockout' and 'We Are The Champions' mixed up. Schoolboy error. I have chastised myself appropriately

Overton's eagle celebration, and Bubbas somewhat half hearted joining in, as if he didn't really want to do it, but felt he should. I guess he knew it would look a bit naff later.

For me the whole event summed up the spirit of the game of Golf.

You had everything in the mix

A fantastic looking Golf Course in Celtic Manor
2 teams with all to play for and great rivalry
Great crowds
Challenging conditions for players, ground staff and spectators alike and officials who had to change the format.
Oodles of skill
Drama of the highest degree
Emotions running high on both sides.
The Banter
The Sausage & Bacon rolls
Pressure
Teamwork
Proper Sportsmanship
Patience
risk/reward
will it/ wont it
Cheers / groans
Being there.
The atmosphere
The Roar of the crowd as another Poulter putt rolls in
Winning / losing

Thank You Ryder Cup

Oh dear Mike. You know Homers going to write you a book dont you. ;)

My favourite moment as an oldy was after all the talk about Rickie and Rory I thought it was a fabulous picture of someone who finally won his first singles match at maybe his last attempt and at 47 is still competing against the world's best and winning.
I cant find the picture but it is Miguel with a bottle of red in one hand, a cigar in the other hand and a Spanish flag around his neck.
Just goes to show the Ryder Cup if for all ages and even Ping players can still win :)

If anyone has it recorded, I'd love to see it again.

Picture the scene,a Ryder cup looking like a wash out but turning out to be the tightest most thrilling finish of all time.Graham Mcdowell showing that even under the most extreme pressure holding his nerve to win,and Hunter Mahan fluffing a chip that we have all done, but no one watching was expecting. But the best moment of all was the celebrations players and spectators all on the final green celebrating as one,no police or steward line stopping spectators,no police dogs, riot police,or armed police, just everybody enjoying what was truly a great sporting event, tears of joy not sadness unless american, and everyone appreciating they have just witnessed something special. The Ryder cup really has established itself as one of the top 3 sporting events in the world.

without a doubt my favourite ryder cup moment was Friday morning. the wind the rain and just to the right of camera a Golf Monthly brolley. :D what do i win. the best bit was the welcome that all players received from the crowd at the first tee off. what a buzz for the players.
