Competition aims

Our first medal is on Easter weekend and has been eagerly anticipated by me and my PPs.

Question is, do you have any aims for the first medal of the season or are you just going to see how it goes easing in?

My handicap is higher than I play to so am hoping to shoot at least 5 under. This may be bold for the first medal though!

Why do you think you could shoot 5 under your handicap?
Have you been practising hard over the winter?
Or have you just got a dodgy handicap?
Or have you been protecting your handicap?
Do you play in your clubs qualifiers?

I would say its a bold statement unless its one of the above.
Not having a pop just your honest answer

Not to blob the 4th

Not to blob the 4th

Not to blob the 4th.........

That and to just relax.

Especially when I am on the 4th tee box.

Relax and do not blob the 4th.....

So the fourth at your place. I'm no expert but call it intuition if you like, because I'm somehow sensing you have a 'thing' about it😄😄

Hit the ball..
Have fun..
Shoot low if possible..
If not, then try and make sure my PP's are not put off by my incredible ineptitude..
Shake hands..
Take my 0.1 like a Boss and enjoy a Pint in the Club...

It's a simple game really... :D

I haven't played any comps at my new place, although I have played of the back tees a few times.

to avoid annoying my PP's or anyone else with my ostentatious, oversized, distracting, 'look at me' poker chip ball marker

seriously though, as the first qualifier will be the first round of the year off the whites, I'm just hoping to get it round in a respectable score. Buffer would be great, a cut would be better

My aim in any comp is to win. If I play my best I'll be well below my handicap. Obviously I don't play my best every time but that's always the aim.

Hopefully get round without breaking into tears,
Hacking lots of balls ob and then finishing by thinning my second shot through the clubhouse window and into the bar, because I'll be to nervous to play a tricky third off of the carpet:)

But I'd be happy with a nice day and buffer if I'm honest.

We've got one this weekend that I think will be a qualifier and I've got mixed feelings about it. I think my game is good enough to have a score but I probably won't use driver more than twice because I haven't fitted the new shaft yet and I think being back off the tees will be a struggle only hitting 5w/3i. Although it will remove all doubt about the par fives so maybe I'll find some shots there by not making big numbers.

Simple. To shoot as low as I can every time I play regardless of whether that's a comp or not. Of course it rarely pans out but that's the goal. In 2015 I'm looking for a level of consistency that was lacking last year as well as trying to get to single figures (and win my H4H challenge)

Maybe at 6700 there are a few longish holes, not to mention the greens running at 12 on the stimp according the Bunker Bros:rofl:
