Coming tomorrow.... All new GM forum

"in this forum structure (UBB) there are 2 fields, a "username" and a "login name". The username is used to display against users and the login name is used when the user logs in. In VB there is only one field which is used in both instances. The migrator by default maintains consistency between the display of the old forum and the new forum by populating this field with the username, but this means the user will have to log in using their username from now on rather than what they're used to.

I have read this half a dozen times and still can't understand it

In a nutshell (I think) he is saying that currently you can have a username to log in with (a login name) and a different username that is displayed against any posts. Perhaps most users have the same name for both and if so will notice no difference. My "login" is aarmstly (don't ask why) but my username is Fyldewhite. As I understand it I will now have to login as Fyldewhite which will also display on posts.

If anyone has their login details stored (ie remembered) by their computer AND have different login/username then they will have to log in again and store the new details.

Of course, I maybe completely wrong :D :D

Your nutshell is bigger than the Nut :D

have you tried switching it on and off
