Come on Europe!!

Just heard them saying that when a group had finished the 5th it would have taken 1 3/4 hrs  FFS its only a bit of rain

I sat down at 6.55 with a cuppa and haven't moved since. I'll remain here till end of play today. I'm only getting up to make a bacon sandwich shortly!!
Repeat tomorrow and be there for Sunday.

The tv will not change from channel 408 for the next few days.

COME ON EUROPE!!!!!!

Why is it so slow? It's match play, so 4 hours should be ample. They have caddies to do the drying bit, so that shouldn't slow it down. I thought they were going to be put on the clock this Ryder cup, with loss of hole if you were too slow. Looks like that one went out the window.

Get a move on.

Oh, and come on Yurp.

...and thank you to the US PGA.

Sort your frikkin' Fed Ex ballhooks out and get the fudge out of the way of the schedule so that the premier golfing event is not held in bloody October!

Grrrrr.

Correct ToonArmy, even tho i loved the FedEx the Yanks have only thought of themselves in this occasion. Why did they have a break between the last one and the Tour Championship itself,i think that dwarf Finicham has to much control of what goes on in the golf world.Britain at this time of year always dodgy.

Its like the Yanks were desperate to get of ,bunch of fannies its only raining, Stricker wouldn't let that ref go.

I think most would concede the pace of play is not what it would be if conditions were not as bad.

Had it not been Ryder Cup I don't think the first group would have tee'd off! Can't play golf in those conditions - no drops to be had, and you can't expect them to play out of puddles.

Hopefully rain will ease and they can recommence soon.

See your point murph but when you are having to spend so long looking for the nearest point of relief on saturated fairways then of course there will be delays. Its the fans that are suffering seeing such little action and ages between shots. Is the USPGA to blame? I can't see how else they can organise the Fed Ex after the normal tour season. Alternatively, why not have the Tour Champs as a one off event after the RC say next week or the week after.

Ok, so conditions are poor. They were at the Hever open that I played in with JustOne, Leftie and Smiffy. In fact, I'd say we had it worse, as there were no squeegees on the greens. We were still round in 4 1/2 hours. The fairways were almost completely flooded, so we had the same problems these guys have. 7 hours is still totally outrageous for a game of golf. If this is viewed as ok, it will only get worse over time.

John Paramour just been on talking about a Monday finish already. Thank you very much PGA Tour and the crappy Fed Ex Cup. Took the day off to watch on TV today and will now most likely miss the finish on Monday. Surely the irrelevant Fed Ex should fit around the Ryder Cup, not the other way round, it isn't even part of the qualifying process.

Exactly.

America has the bonus of having year round good weather in ALOT of places...They could easily have the Tour Champs a week or two weeks after the Ryder Cup.

Can't understand why the PGA Tour is getting all the flack.....I am pretty sure that they werny the idiots that decided to take it to Wales.

If it had been at the Belfry today it would be the same,it'll be the same at Gleneagles, golf, unless it is played at a proper course (links) is a waste of time after the start of September in the UK and you are always going to be praying for the weather to be kind otherwise your in the shite

In a word, yes.

The Fed Ex is a bloated cash cow dreamt up to be important when it isn't. It has also got fatter and longer over time. A cynic might suggest it's a simile for the average American stomach...

The Ryder Cup date should be set in stone with everything else fitting around it and if that means a few greedy Yanks don't bother to turn up, then fudge 'em.

If this carries on, what hope of play in Scotland in 4 years? They might as well schedule all the European matches for Sicily from now on.

October is too late. The FedEx should be utterly ignored in this process and the US PGA need to be mindful of the growing stature of the European Tour and its players.
