Watching the series again for the first time in 30 years. Was one if my favourites when i was at school, and after a slow start it is not disappointing again. Some great actors in it, and because it is period it doesn't look dated like a lot of 70's shows.

10.00 pm viewing is now sorted for the next few weeks. :) :)

Caught a bit of this the other night. Makes me feel old now as it's 38 years since I saw the first run way back in '72 :rolleyes:

Think you might have seen it the first time around Bob. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

wait till episode 14 - he's in the back right playing with two hinged pieces of wood :D

I WAS playing with two hinged pieces of wood until Illya Kuryakin commandeered them to make a catapault to fire old Binky over the wall :mad:

Sure i saw those two bits of wood used on the glider as well. Royalties from 1943 might be worth a few bob, Bob

Never knew it was called that ! My father was a pilot and flew, if that's the correct term, gliders. Always thought it was a brilliant escape idea.

I thought the programme where they built the glider and flew it was good too. Not quite to their plans, they changed the dope, but tested the original idea* and reckoned it would have worked.

* bob's porridge I think

Was a great series and I remember watching it every Saturday with my dad. It set the standard that others like Secret Army took on. Interesting to see how well some of the extras and minor characters seem to have done for themselves
