I have recently purchased a Cobra AMP 9.5 Stiff (Last years model) What a club! Took it out for its first round last week, such a solid feel off the head and the shaft is one of the best I've ever used- the Aldila RIP.

I actually tried this years offering from Cobra, but really didn't like the Fuel shaft they have put in it, just didn't suit my swing. Although the different colours of the heads are fantastic!

Really have to congratulate Cobra on their clubs the last few years as they have had some great additions to their expanding clubs.

Has anyone got the AMP Cell this year, how't it performing? Good distance? Or has anyone had last years then upgraded to this year, if so what do you feel the differences are?

I've just ordered the amp cell irons, can't wait to get them as I was realy impressed with them in terms of looks, feel and performance! So much better than my rocketbladez in all those departments!
Will be looking at getting the driver too when I get chance

Do Cobra drivers still sound like you're hitting the ball with a frying pan?

They used to make a horrendous noise. I have no idea if this is true with their newer offerings?

I recently put my Cobra S9-1 9.5 driver into retirement as it was starting to get a bit "battered". Yeah it did sound like a frying pan which is probably the best way to put it.

My dad has bought the same driver as these guys and it sounds "clunky" more than anything. I hit a few balls at the range with it and felt no where near as good as my RBZ's stage 2 or even my old Cobra. Just my opinion as I know different clubs suit different people.

Good luck with the new driver! They do look great

Good Man.

I have the AMP 10.5 with the Stiff Shaft, Its a great club... well when I hit it right. Only issue I found was the blasted headcover was a pita to put on. So I bought the Puma Cobra Monoline Headcover :)

It encouraged me to buy the 3 wood and Rescue Club. But I can't hit the 3 wood so selling it.

Can't speak for anything other than the AMP I had before my R1, but it was much better sounding than anything else I've hit.

Not at all loud and very solid - a far cry from the Cobra's of the past.

As a side note, the R1 is the loudest thing I've ever hit!

ohhhh I wish I could go.

I was at the Cobra Stand at the Scottish Golf show, I was interested in the new AMP Cell which I nearly bought if only AG would have came down a few quid on the price. I have been looking for a cobra demo day in Edinburgh so I can try the new AMP cell irons

Cobra drivers used to be so loud when they used to be under the Acushnet umbrella, but now they've been bought by Puma they seem to be in a different league!

The worst for the noise used to be the Cobra Speed LD if I remember rightly, a right saucepan!

I haven't been playing the game all that long but in my short career I've tried a few different iron sets mainly taylormade (R9, R11, rocketbladez) none of these impressed me straight out the box like the amp cell irons did! Can't wait to pick them up next week now,
As for the driver, I'm trying my hardest not to try one at the moment as I know I'll have to get one and the wife will destroy me!!!

Won my amp as part of a gm fitting, wanted to hate it but loved it. I've juiced mine with a real deal motore f1, takes a great club and turns it into a weapon!

Got the amp cell last week. Paid £200. Got to get used to the change but so far its looking good. More penetrating ball flight and a bit more roll so going further than my old 12* hs9 on the 10.5 setting. Very nice at address with the red paint job.
