just sitting looking at more rain and wondering how many of you still go to the club for a pint even with the course shut.

Not me. My local pub is about 150 yards from my front door so that is where I head for when it is raining.

Played this morning at Crieff, perfect weather course was in good nick considering all the rain we have had lately.
I don't use clubhouse as often as I should as it's 17 miles from home.

Nice day here in Edinburgh, played a winter fourball tie today with my brother-in-law, 18 winter greens after all the snow/rain etc of the last fortnight. Had to give away a good number of shots to the high marker. Good to get out though, if it doesn't get too wet this week, course should be quite good fro next weekend.

Had a wee drink in the bar after our match, as you do. Nice to sit and watch those behind finish their games on a good bright afternoon.

Was nice, DCB. 3 of us played at the Glen, down in North Berwick in lovely conditions. But I was driving so couldn't have a beer in their lovely new clubhouse. Where's a minibus and a free bar when you need it?

How was the breeze down there? It was a wee bit blowy up here late morning. just enough to make you think about your shots if you know what I mean.

What was the club of choice on the wee par three today at the Glen? Tide in or out?

There was the usual prevailing breeze, DCB, against coming in. Fun wee hole that 13th. Usually a wedge, it was a knock down 6 iron today, so enough to keep us all honest. Tide in, I think. Great to get back on the saddle, though. My pal was desperate to try out his new Benross irons so I wasn't gonna get off the hook, no matter the weather.

Since this is the "Club House " Thread, what did you think of their (the Glens) new clubhouse? Not played there since it was opened but it looks a vast improvement on the old "quaint" clubhouse.

I played my first round at my new club today. first hole,7th hole(shotgun start) par five, spanked my teeshot 300+, hit a 5iron on in 2, lipped out the eagle put then tapped in a birdie.....the rest was a disaster(apart from a par on the 1st) Nevermind tho I had a laugh!

Not me. I only use the clubhouse when I am playing or practicing. Not for any particular adversion other than a) I'm not allowed to drink anymore and b) my local is 10 minutes away and the locals are a good bunch
