Club Fitting

All important that you get the right guy there imo. Heard a few poor stories about sessions there where the fitter hasn't been up to scratch, though there are/have been definitely good guys there in the past!

Its ok, they have GC2 HMT there, plus I'm very much up-to-speed with fitting in todays world! :). And yes, you're right, I have first hand experience of poor fits there from years ago when they had Flightscope with the emphasis on quick-sale from their stock. People are more wise nowadays.

First up, they use Trackman up at Close House

In short, hit my Titleist 913 Driver and Hybrid, along with my Callaway Big Bertha 3 Fairway, the numbers were where I expected them, knowing my swing, it being cold and windy.

First up was the new Titleist gear and for all three I was up on swing speed and up on yardage, on the long side about 15yds, but on average 12yds longer on all three clubs.
.

A 12-15yds increase on ALL 3 clubs is quite impressive, especially just from the TITLEIST 913 to the 915.
The 913 is a very good piece of kit still, so wouldn't have expected too much difference between it and the next model....
Was the 915 same model D2....??....and same loft.....??
Only asking as I've a mate (bit like stu ) loves changing his driver, but the differences (for him) between 913-915 were negligible, except the fairway

When I get playing again, I'm going to be in the market for a new driver, treat myself, so might give the 915 a whirl........

As said by others
Be sure to try the Titleist again, side by side, when you try out the new Mizuno driver
Good luck

£25 for a hour fitting, they have Ping G30's, Nike, Taylor Made, Callaway (I think), Mizuno (though not the new 850 metals yet, due in any time), fitting is done on Trackman, but you're also firing balls down range, not into a net. The guys up there are very knowledgeable, they all attend fitter courses for all the makes they fit and are all PGA pros.

Although I'm not a member at Close House I use the range a lot, so you get to know the people up and they are all friendly, well worth, plus if after your fitting you buy a club from them you get the fitting price off the club, pretty standard for most places and the prices are pretty good as well. I think it was mentioned tonight that he 915D3 was in at £329 with the Fairway and Hybrid £199

Great facilities but isn't it misleading using range balls rather than proper golf balls. I thought range balls don't spin as much as proper golf balls which makes the numbers misleading.
Whilst I would love to see the actual ball flight isn't it more important to get proper figures on a launch monitor with real balls ?
