Nothing to do a big gulp about. Hot water isn't going to loosen the clubhead, it's hard enough to get it off with a heat gun.

It will loosen the ferrule but that doesn't affect the club. I have a loose ferrule on my irons which are 4 months old and have never been immersed in water hot or cold. It happens.

I use warm water with fairy and Milton and a toothbrush for the grooves. Have a sponge/pan scrubber thing for the grips and seems to work, my clubs are always pretty clean, usually every fortnight give them a scrub. I also clean a the grooves and faces after every shot.

If its with soapy water ie washing up liquid, the soap will attack the glue that holds the club head on the shaft.

I have been known to use autoglym car shampoo on mine, certainly makes my chrome mizunos very shiney in the bag

Not done it myself but brother in-law uses cheap coca cola to soak his in and he swears by it.
I'll have to give it try. I've just been using warm water and a brush.

No chance, its hard enough to break a 2 part epoxy with a heat gun never mind soapy water.

Definatley won't affect the club in anyway, I never stated that it did. Just stated that's the reason why I don't put the hot eternal above the hosel. To stop them loosening off, loose ferrules annoy me, bit of an ocd lol
